what were you driving?

The Citroen.
Whenever I park near a sidewalk or any other bumper-height obstacle I rise the suspension to highest level as to not rub the underside of the bumper and use the maximum space available. But when driving away I usually just mash the lowering button and this time it went too low.

what kinda Citroen is it? Is it simular to an Allroad suspension? I usually put the Allroad down to ‘1' for the highway and ‘2' for city driving

Citroen C5. It doesn’t use air to set the height, instead it has a hydropneumatic setup with spheres, like a classic Citroen DS. But the computers auto-level the suspension on specific situations, on highways it drops the front for more aerodynamics, on rough terrain it sets it higher and so on.

i wish they brought Citroen to the US. I’m like 50% French and would definitely love to have a French car.

They drive like nothing else. I read somewhere that they were planning to bring Citroen to the US by 2020.

What price point are they? do they depreciate like Germans? I’m guessing with the fancy systems they are as reliable as them as well.

a couple nice ones out there, I think the newest I’d have access to is a ‘91 but a quick search shows nothing.

The new ones are ok, never heard of problems. Citroen is going to bring just the premium DS line, so price point won’t be low.

Those are my dream cars, I’d do unspeakable things for a Citroen SM.
I think you can find a Peugeot 205 GTi in the US, those can’t be very expensive.

They are around and not bad. My buddy just bought one a few months ago. Fun little car.

Bugger, any damage? Luckily my Citroen doesn’t have fancy lowering suspension so, in fact it has almost SUV like ride height, so this could never happen to it. Unfortunately it rides like a sports car but doesn’t handle like one!

Only the respect the building’s doorman had for me and the underside of the bumper are damaged (scraped). Which Citroen do you have?

#hydropnumaticlife I think I have a bad strut or ride height sensor.

The Merc is sagging?

Not sagging per say, but it’s about 1/2 an inch low on the rear right corner. No ABC lights or any leaking fluid. I think I may have bent a sensor bar when I had to drive it on collapsed suspension and hit a pot hole.

Probably that, also hit a pothole recently, it made a bad noise.

Can you still buy a Citroen with hydropnumatic suspension?

Here in Brazil you can’t, just the normal fancy 1.6 Turbos and some small cars. Not sure if they still have the C5 in Europe though.

so nothing major then, lucky! I've got a DS4.

Don’t think so, the DS line is the “fancy” bit of Citroen. They have the DS3. DS4 and DS5.
But this is their introduction to the market, just like Fiat did with the 500 or Alfa with the 4C, if they are successful I’m sure the Cactus will come too.

Damn. If they would come even sooner, I’d consider a DS3 over a Fiesta ST.

My dad had one to drive to and from work, nice little car, not sure if it is better than the more powerful Fist though.

But if they bring the DS3 Racing over it might be.

Indeed, it might be. Did you like the orange decals?
I found it a bit too much.
